The Opportunity

SSM Health St. Clare Hospital in Baraboo, WI is actively recruiting a full-time Hospitalist Advanced Practitioner. The Advanced Practitioner (NP/PA) will provide hospital medicine services; which include admissions, daily rounding, discharges, consults under the collaborative model of joint practice that emphasizes the promotion of health, the prevention of disease, and the early detection and treatment of disease. The AP will perform the functions of examining, assessing, planning, and implementing the health care of assigned patients under a licensed physician's supervision and direction. The AP will secure patient histories, performs physical examinations, orders laboratory tests, develops and implements treatment plans, performs diagnostic and treatment procedures, records findings, and provides patient education and counseling to enhance our effectiveness in providing primary care for inpatient admissions.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must possess an unrestricted license to practice in the State of Wisconsin, including Registered Nurse and Nurse Prescriber authorization, and an unrestricted DEA registration for each practice location, or Physician Assistant licensure.
  • Have or obtain ACLS certification

Preferred Experience

  • Prior hospital medicine experience preferred.
  • Experience with emergency resuscitation

The Hospital

St. Clare Hospital and Health Services, is located in nearby Baraboo, 10 miles south of Lake Delton. The hospital's primary service area includes the communities of Baraboo, Lake Delton, and Wisconsin Dells, with a population of 30,000. Dean Clinic rotates many specialists from its clinics in Madison to its Specialty Clinic at St. Clare Hospital, thus bringing regular specialty care to a population that would normally not be able to support it.

Baraboo is a picturesque community nestled in the Baraboo River Valley in the rolling hills of central Wisconsin. With a population of 13,500, it is one of the most rapidly growing areas of the region. Situated between Devil's Lake State Park and Wisconsin Dells, and home to the Circus World Museum, Baraboo is the destination for thousands of tourists every year.
