At its core, SSM Health is a healing ministry — an integrated Catholic, not-for-profit health system that serves the comprehensive health needs of communities across the Midwest. This foundation permeates our culture.
SSM Health’s leadership, physicians and providers are committed to our system's Mission: Through our exceptional health care services, we reveal the healing presence of God.
We believe that our presence in health care, in our communities and in our patients’ lives should reflect the compassion and care of God. It is a special calling that brought our teams to medicine, and we seek to empower them by providing them with the resources necessary to be successful.
The healing power of presence begins by hearing. SSM Health is an engaged culture that listens to understand and evolves to meet the needs of our staff and our patients.
We have become leaders in health care by having an open culture that asks for feedback, input and suggestions on how to improve the way we deliver care. We empower our leadership and providers to formulate strategies and initiate plans that will strengthen our system and our clinical practices. By working together, we can thrive in our careers while we deliver hope and healing through visionary leadership and compassionate care.
The vast possibilities and expansive science of medicine are far too great for any individual to master, so we rely on one another to share knowledge and provide unique insights for strategy, growth, diagnoses and treatments. We are a vast network of experienced leaders and compassionate physicians and providers representing the full spectrum of health care specialties and subspecialties. Joined by a fully integrated electronic health records system, we are better equipped to harness the expertise of peers and consult with one another seamlessly. Working together with a shared purpose of caring and healing allows us to develop and share best practice protocols across all of our ministries and beyond.
SSM Health has physicians in leadership so they understand what it's like to be a physician. Because of that, I feel like they really listen to physicians and take our input. We work together to do what is right for the patients.
We actively address our patient as a person. Our culture is very concerned with the mind, body and spirit of each person we serve. I think most of our providers choose to join because they want to be part of this Mission and they want to work in an environment that genuinely cares for people the way we do.
