With specialists in family medicine, internal medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, and pediatrics, SSM Health offers an experienced team of providers to support patients through all phases of their lives.

As the patient's first point of care, the PCP manages routine wellness visits and screenings, cares for patients when they have a non-emergency illness and refers for any specialized care you may need.

The Hospital and Clinic

SSM Health of Wisconsin built a new full service medical campus in Janesville which opened in January 2012. It is located at the intersection of Interstate 90 and State Highway11. The medical campus is a state of the art facility and includes the 50-bed St. Mary's Janesville Hospital and the connected SSM Health Dean Medical Group physician offices and medical complex. The surgeons enjoy the convenience of practicing in a beautiful new facility in which physician offices are just a brief stroll to the operating rooms. The hospital provides health care services from Urgent Care to ICU, and a recently added on site radiation oncology facility. It also benefits from being part of the greater SSM System, with the sister hospital, St. Mary's Hospital in Madison, just 35 miles north of Janesville. Additionally, the SSM system includes a fully integrated health plan and 24 hospitals in total across WI, IL, MO, and OK. Electronic medical records are also seamlessly connected throughout the entire system via Epic.

The Community

A mid-sized city of 60,000 people, Janesville residents enjoy their beautiful, safe, family-oriented community for its excellent schools and abundant recreational opportunities. Residents enjoy a plentiful array of outdoor activities from golfing, boating, sailing, waterskiing, hiking/biking miles of scenic trails, to snowmobiling and cross country skiing.

Janesville is fortunate to have a very dedicated, innovative, and engaged business community and an unusually extensive and robust infrastructure for a city of its size. This combination has blessed Janesville with a resilient economy and a dedicated population. Add to this a rich history and more than 2,500 acres of beautiful parks & bike trails, and you can see why Janesville earns its name as "Wisconsin's Park Place."

Quality of Life

Wisconsin

Enjoy a quality of life that comes with a location known for its idyllic lakes, wooded acres and rolling farmlands. Wisconsin is a state that has long set a standard for good government and citizenship. Whether you’re planning to make a home amidst the backdrop of the high-tech businesses and acclaimed academic institutions in the progressive small city of Madison or within the rolling hills and fresh waters that lead people to the Wisconsin Dells every summer, you’ll find a friendly, affordable and peaceful quality of life that makes Wisconsin among the best states to live in the country.

Wisconsin

“This past year has further demonstrated the important and influential role that health care systems can and should play in shaping local communities and society at large,” Joe Hodges, Regional President, SSM Health in Oklahoma. “SSM Health is proud to join this pledge and will continue taking bold steps to ensure better health for all – particularly those who are economically, physically and socially marginalized.”

Collectively, SSM Health and the other Catholic health organizations that have signed the pledge employ nearly a half million people across 46 states and the District of Columbia, and care for almost four million patients annually.

Recognizing that racism is an affront to the core values of Catholic social teaching, CHA members joined in solidarity to promote the common good and seek justice by being actively anti-racist and accountable in effecting positive change in the communities we serve.

Four focus areas

Act for COVID-19 equity: Members commit to ensuring that testing for COVID-19 is available and accessible in minority communities and that new treatments are distributed and used equitably as they become available. Members will also work for prioritization of vaccinations for those individuals and families at higher risk — elder populations and communities of color, including Native American communities.

Enact change across our own health systems: Members are examining how their organizations recruit, hire, promote and retain employees; how they conduct business operations, including visible diversity and inclusivity at the decision, leadership and governance levels; and how they incentivize and hold our leaders accountable.

Advocate for improved health outcomes for minority communities and populations: Members agree to promote and improve the delivery of culturally competent care and oppose policies that exacerbate or perpetuate economic and social inequities, including such issues as education, housing and criminal justice reform.

Strengthen trust with minority communities: Members will continue to foster, strengthen and sustain authentic relationships based on mutually agreed goals to better understand the unique needs of their communities.

Kaiser and other Catholic health care leaders who have signed the pledge recognize that collectively they are in a unique position to bring about overdue change to policies and practices that have allowed systemic racism and health disparities to continue in the United States.

To hold itself and its members accountable, CHA intends to provide updates on the commitment progress annually.
