Full Time Nurse Practitioner to help in staffing of the Palliative Care program of SSM Health - Illinois. This position will be primarily located at SSM Health - Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon, Illinois, but could have responsibilites in the future to SSM Health - St. Mary's Hospital Centralia, Illinois.

The APN plans, coordinates and implements patient care specific to the palliative care population served and within the clinical scope of the NP as designated by their respective certifying bodies and as delegated by their collaborating or supervising physician. The NP/PA shall provide patient care according to the protocols agreed upon by the SSM Health - Illinois and will be working with palliative care patients.

The position will be a full-time position with a Monday - Friday 8 am to 5 pm schedule and will require no nights and weekends.

Looking for an experienced provider comfortable working independently due to the responsibility of this position, successful candidates will have at least of 1 year of independent working expierience as a NP, as a preferred requirement.


Position Requirements (General):
Master's Degree for APN
NP/CNS - RN and Nationally Certified as NP or CNS in specialty area and Illinois License Advanced Practice Nurse
1+ years of independent practice experience preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Able to assess the needs of the customer and effectively meet their needs.

Department Specific:
Successful candidate will possess a certification in Family Medicine or Adult Medicine in addition to their active NP license.
